Justin was coming down with a flu so Jen and I decided to get out of our germ filled house. The Sunday started with an early stop at Noah's Bagels for large coffees and warm bagels and once fueled, our human engines started to spark and we were excited about our selected hike. Mount Baden-Powell 9,400 ft an 8 mile moderate hike on a section of the great PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) would be our destination. The Angeles National Forest requires an "Adventure Pass" so we stopped at a ranger station to acquire one where we were informed our selected trail was not accessible due to a rock slide in 2006 that closed the road. He suggested another day hike, Mount Waterman not as strenuous but popular and enjoyable.
The trail included Jeffrey and Sugar pines, white fir and boulders to scamper on. Once again, Nature provided all the elements for a beautiful day that renewed our spirits.
